Sign in to playTwo spheres sit on an axis, each held back on a rope by a person standing outside so that it is not pulled towards the other. Change the masses m₁, m₂ and the centre-to-centre distance r with the sliders or by dragging the spheres, and watch the force arrows, how far each person leans and the value F = G·m₁·m₂/r² update in real time; F can be shown in scientific notation a×10ⁿ or as a decimal, and "Constant size" keeps the drawn sphere size separate from the actual mass. How to use
Parameters you can change
- Mass m1 1–1000 kg
- Mass m2 1–1000 kg
- Centre-to-centre distance 1.2–10 m
- Constant size
- Show force in scientific notation (a×10ⁿ)
